Just Come Home ∙ Worship Wednesday 6.10.20

Do you ever feel distant from God? Do you ever not touch your Bible for days, weeks, maybe months? Maybe you pick up your Bible one day and discover a thick layer of dust covering it. But here's something that's really hard for us to believe: The time that you spend away from God doesn't matter, he just wants you to come home.

Joel 2:13 says, "Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity."

He is gracious and compassionate. I fully believe that we should beat ourselves up when we spend even a day away from God's word, but HE won't beat you up over it. He doesn't care how much you pray, or how many days you haven't been motivated to read your Bible. All that He cares about is whether or not you come home.

So come home. Today. Start small if you have to. Do a quick devotion. Watch a sermon. PRAY. Talk to God, tell Him why you've been away for a while; tell Him you're coming home, and that's all that matters. Make the effort to get back to Him.
